About the Project
This particular renovation took place in Evatt, a suburb located in Canberra’s north. The homeowners had their eyes set out on a modern bathroom with a clean aesthetic that also had a calming and tranquil vibe. They were after a space where they could picture themselves relaxing in and enjoying the unwind from a long day’s work. The original bathroom was outdated, dark, and in need of some professional TLC.
What the Client Had in Mind
Our client was after a functional space that made sense for them. In addition to a modern look and clean finishes, their wish list included:
- A freestanding bath
- Brushed brass fixtures
- LED lighting in the niches
- Large tiles with a natural feel
- Classic & Timeless style profile
How We Got Started
The original layout worked, so we kept the existing plumbing positions and focused the budget on materials and finishes. We removed the old bath, wall tiles, and vanity, waterproofed the entire space, and then began rebuilding from the ground up.
What We Installed
We used large-format, stone-look tiles in soft greys to give the space a natural, high-end feel. For the floor, we chose a lighter tile to soften the look and add some warmth.
The freestanding bath is framed by a full-width niche, lit from above with soft white LED lighting and edged with brushed brass trim. Matching brass tapware and mixer controls keep the look consistent.
We approached the shower with the same materials and styling, adding another LED-lit niche and brushed brass rain head, all set into the oversized tiled walls. With all elements combined, the bathroom presented with a clean, balanced, and seamless look.

How Long It Took
The entire project ran just over two weeks from start to finish. That included demolition, waterproofing, full tiling, lighting installation, and all the plumbing and fit-off work.
